An X user who was recently stopped from a US visa interview because of his smart ring told how he did what his grandfather did with money during the partition of India and Pakistan. After going to a US visa interview with a sleep-tracking ring, India Gold co-founder Deepak Abbott said: “While leaving Pakistan, he did what his grandfather did with his gold.'' ” he said. In his post, Abbott joked about the situation, saying the only difference between him and his grandfather was that he “got his ring back.” He also advised his followers not to bring electronic devices to US visa interviews.
Sharing the incident, Abbott wrote, “I had a US visa appointment at the consulate that day. I didn't bring my cell phone or bag with me as they are not allowed inside the building. I saw him wearing his @UltrahumanHQ ring. I forgot and the consulate refused.” “I came out of the house and realized I had no one to give it to. I was confused about what to do next.”
“I did the same thing my grandfather did with the gold when he left Pakistan. I went a little further and dug a hole, kept the ring inside and placed a stone on top of it. The only difference was: I went back and got it back. Lesson learned: What to do Don't bring electronic devices to your US visa interview,” he added.

Mr Abbott shared about the incident just hours ago and his post has since garnered more than 40,000 views and hundreds of likes. Internet users shared their reactions in the comments section.
One user wrote, “Desi jugaad>Videshi guidelines.” “Exactly the same method I used on my cell phone during entrance exams. I'm glad I'm not alone,” said another.
“Interesting. Last year they let me have mine, so I demonstrated the Ring electronics at the visa interview office. All kidding aside, I'm happy to help in any way.”3 The second user shared. “At least it was a smart ring. Car keys weren't allowed! Modern technology would allow anything to go inside. We need a more convenient way to store things in and near the consulate. I think so,” another person commented.

“I was thinking of replying the same way. Or I could have just left Autowala standing outside and told him I would take him home,” the user said.
“Why aren't there facilities for storage? I don't think people just randomly leave their phones outside,” a fifth user asked. “Security personnel made it very clear that it was not their problem. There was no indoor storage available,” Abbott said.
