With 2024 now halfway through, it's a great time for businesses to evaluate their goals and progress this year. If you need extra help for the remainder of 2024, small business grants may be able to help. There are several programs currently accepting applications across the U.S. Read on to learn about the different opportunities.
USDA REAP Grants
The USDA's Rural Energy for America program offers grants and loans to farms and other rural small businesses that want to install renewable energy systems. These financing options are open to people looking to harness wind, solar and other clean energy sources. The program is still running, but the next deadline for rural businesses in several Northeastern states is July 1.
Invest in Atlanta Water Outage Recovery Fund
The City of Atlanta recently approved a grant program to help small businesses affected by the water outage earlier this month. The resolution includes $5 million in funding, and grant amounts will be based on how long each business was forced to close. The program, run by Invest Atlanta, will be accepting applications from now until July 8.
Baltimore Gas & Electric Small Business Revitalization Grant
Baltimore Gas & Electric has partnered with Hello Alice to provide grants to local small businesses owned by historically under-represented groups. The BGE Small Business Revitalization Grant Program, now in its third year, will award $20,000 in grants. At least 30 of this year's grants will be awarded to businesses located in Neighborhood Business Districts. Additionally, businesses must be located within BGE's service area and meet other criteria. The application deadline is July 12.
San Antonio COSA Construction Grant
The City of San Antonio, Texas is now accepting applications for the City's Small Business Construction Assistance Grant. The program is for businesses affected by construction in the city and can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $35,000. To be eligible, you must be located in an area affected by a construction project that was underway as of February 1 and active for at least 12 months. Projects must be city-led and impact at least 10 businesses. The application deadline is July 15.
HoneyBook Breakthrough Grant
Customer management platform HoneyBook recently launched its Breakthrough Grant program to support early-stage marketing and creative consultancies. The program includes a total of $500,000 in funding from HoneyBook and will be awarded over two rounds this year. Each cycle will provide grants worth $25,000 to 10 companies. The first round of applications closes on July 16th.
California Small Agricultural Business Drought and Flood Relief Grant Program
California is providing relief grants to small agricultural businesses that have lost revenue due to drought and floods. The California Agriculture Business Drought and Flood Grant Program is currently providing funds to businesses in Drought Group 3, which includes businesses that did not file their 2022 tax returns until 2024. Eligible businesses can apply for up to $100,000 during this funding cycle. The application period ends July 29th.
Santa Rosa Improvement and Revitalization Initiative (StRIVE) Program
Santa Rosa County, Florida, has a grant program that offers matched grants for store improvements. The Santa Rosa Improvement and Revitalization Enterprises (StRIVE) program was paused for the past few years due to the pandemic, but is back this year offering grants of up to $10,000 to qualifying businesses. The final deadline for applications is July 31.
Lackawanna County Small Business Grants
Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania is now accepting applications for a new round of its Small Business Grant Program. Eligible businesses can apply for up to $5,000, with a total of $500,000 available in federal American Rescue Plan Act funding. To be eligible, a business must be for-profit, have between 1 and 100 employees, and have been adversely affected by the pandemic. Businesses must also submit a project in which the entire grant amount will be spent within the county. The final deadline to apply for this funding round is July 31.
