A new collaborative initiative between the Kansas Small Business Development Center and the Northwest Kansas Economic Innovation Center, Inc. has been announced.
This initiative will bring business to business communities in the 26-county region served by the Innovation Center, including Cheyenne, Rollins, Decatur, Norton, Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Republic, Sherman, Thomas, Sheridan, Graham, Rooks, and Osborn. Development services will be enhanced. , by making services more available and effective for Mitchell, Cloud, Wallace, Logan, Gove, Trego, Ellis, Russell, Lincoln, Ottawa, Ellsworth, and Saline Counties.
Applications are now open through the Innovation Center for a Business Support Program Director to manage KSBDC services in northwest Kansas. This is a 12-month, full-time position that he can work remotely or from the Norton Innovation Center office. Ultimately, the candidate will reside in her 26-county area on the list.
Historically, KSBDC positions have been based in a university setting, which sometimes presents challenges. The new position will be based at the Innovation Center, a privately run foundation. This allows organizations to adapt to local business needs and issues better than what their state or federal status allows.
The Innovation Center is dedicated to developing and sustaining business in northwest Kansas. This is a key element in making our economies stronger and more resilient.
