The Center for Financial Success (CFS) at Western Kentucky University is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2024 Personal Finance Summer Camp for students in grades 10-12. Thanks to the generous and ongoing support of Abound Credit Union, this camp provides students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in personal finance education and campus life.
Abound Credit Union's commitment to financial education is demonstrated through our continued sponsorship of personal finance summer camps. Since partnering with the WKU Center for Financial Success in 2022, Abound Credit Union has recognized the positive impact camps have on students and has expanded its support. In 2023, the credit union committed to his three-year sponsorship totaling $75,000 to further strengthen essential financial skills for students.

The multi-year sponsorship not only supports the camp's operating costs, but also provides significant scholarships to participants, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent students from participating in this transformative experience. Personal finance summer camp June 9thth Until June 13thth. During the five-day program, campers will reside on the WKU campus and participate in a variety of activities, including personal finance workshops, leadership training, guest speaker sessions, and a financial planning case study competition. This case study requires teams to create a financial plan for a mock client, culminating in a presentation on the final day. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit local financial firms, where advisors will serve as a valuable resource for the case study competition. Throughout camp, WKU Finance students will act as counselors and provide guidance and support.
