Redmond, Washington – The city and One Redmond are partnering on a small business grant fund, which will begin accepting applications on Monday, October 16th. This program provides relief in the form of a one-time $5,000 grant to experienced small commercial businesses. economic hardship due to COVID-19 and related public health measures;
The City is committing more than $500,000 to this fourth round of City-distributed funding designed specifically for the small business community. This grant is funded by federal appropriations from the American Rescue Plan Act and requires a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) prior to award.
“The City of Redmond is committed to supporting small business owners,” Mayor Angela Barney said. “These small businesses bring vibrancy and vitality to our local economy, and it’s important that we foster their success today, tomorrow and into the future.”
Echoing Mayor Bernie, Christina Hudson, CEO of One Redmond, said: “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and are vulnerable to the lingering effects of the pandemic. One Redmond is implementing this grant program to support small businesses essential to the economic vitality of our communities. We are proud to once again partner with the City of Redmond.”
Eligible businesses must be located within the 98052 ZIP code in the City of Redmond and have 10 or fewer employees. Grants will be determined by a lottery conducted by an external organization.
