3. DOE Small Business Opportunity Day at the National Laboratory
In 2023, OSDBU partnered with the National Institute to host a series of small business opportunity days to maximize opportunities for service-disabled veteran-owned, women-owned, disadvantaged small businesses, and HUBZone small businesses. On March 28, OSDBU, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory hosted Women-Owned Small Business Opportunity Day. As the next event in the series, OSDBU and the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) hosted his HUBZone and SDB Small Business Opportunity Day at his NETL in Morgantown, West Virginia on May 3. The third annual Opportunity Day, sponsored by OSDBU and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), was held on November 8 at PNNL in Richland, Wash., and focused on veteran-owned small businesses. DOE has awarded more than $20 million from these events, and OSDBU continues to collaborate with the National Institute on Small Business Opportunity Days to provide detailed information, resources, and a wide range of opportunities to support the Department's mission. I will continue to do so.
A special thank you to all the small businesses working with the Department, as well as DOE officials who rely on small businesses to support DOE's mission. In 2023, the Department is significantly increasing incentives for small and medium-sized businesses, including undervalued businesses, and the future remains bright. Through President Biden's investment policies in America, including the bipartisan Infrastructure Act and the Reducing Inflation Act, the Department of Energy is proud to partner with small businesses to advance a clean energy economy. Join us at DOE OSDBU for the 2024 DOE Small Business Forum & Expo in Minneapolis, June 4-5, 2024. The conference website and registration is scheduled to open in January 2024.
