UMassD hosts Fall River Entrepreneurship Day
Charlton Business College presents regional tourism panel to local stakeholders
For the second year in a row, Fall River Entrepreneurship Day was held as part of an event celebrating the city's innovative, resilient and amazing entrepreneurs. Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) was created as a partnership between Dartmouth College and Bristol Community College to lead the Massachusetts South Coast.
Among the many events held in the area, UMassD's Charlton Business College We were particularly proud to host a regional tourism panel on Wednesday, November 15th with key regional stakeholders to discuss visitor information from the region's various attractions and events. This research has been carried out by the university since mid-2022.
The event included Rick Kidder, CEO of Bristol County Tourism and former CEO of the South Coast One Chamber of Commerce, Mike O'Sullivan, current Chamber CEO, and Viva Fall River Executive Director Patti Rego and others were in attendance.
“Charlton College of Business's mission is to create and disseminate knowledge that positively impacts the lives, careers and innovation of organizations and communities,” said John Williams, Dean of Charlton College of Business. he said. “We are proud to lead events like this that bring together academia, business, local leadership and the community to drive innovation and economic activity on the South Coast.”
“We are currently amassing a significant amount of visitor profile information and are working to bring together key players in the local tourism economy to attract more visitors and the spending they bring. We’re starting to share that more broadly with the community,” the associate professor of business administration said. , Paul Bakdayan. “This includes South Coast restaurants, lodging, museums, festivals, entertainment venues and more.”
Mr Charlton plans to continue these discussions at a major tourism summit in the spring to further develop ideas for increasing visitor numbers to the region's attractions.
